PM: Do Not Be Afraid of Traffic Police More Than the Fear of Death

KAMPONG SPEU: Prime Minister Hun Sen sent a message to the people to not be afraid of the traffic police more than the fear of death or injury because we cannot turn back time.

Speaking at the Ground Breaking Ceremony for the Reconstruction and Upgrading of National Road No. 41 on the morning of 26 December 2022, in Kong Pisei District, Kampong Speu Province, Prime Minister Hun Sen said that traffic accidents kill an average of five people a day, which is a matter of concern for the Royal Government.

He said, "Do not be afraid of the traffic police, be afraid of death or injury. The word 'death' does not [go and] return in the evening. If you are disabled, you are disabled."

On average, traffic accident kills five people a day, equivalent to 150 people a month, while costing the national budget about $450 million a year.
